Who do you call when your troops are ready for riot training? Graham.
Over the years we have supplied a number of loads of empty glass bottles to Catterick Garrison. They will be filled with petrol, set alight & flung by the Sergeants at their squaddies to give them useful experience of molatov cocktails, before they face this attack for real in the field.
Pretty sobering! A big thank you to everyone at Catterick Garrison for the risks they take.

We wave our pints off on this one way, blaze of glory, knowing they had a good life to date, chinking their way back and forth between the farm & your home. The average Acorn Dairy glass bottle does 86 round trips, before a chip or crack directs it to our or your recycling bins, ready for their next life.
This reuse of glass is key, given the upfront energy/heat required to create it. If multi-reuse (before ultimate recycling) is not an option e.g. jam jars from supermarkets, using easily recycled HDPE containers makes more sense. This affects shelf appeal however…
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) tax was introduced in April & is calculated on the weight of packaging food producers buy in for supply to retail or the end food consumer. It is ‘responsible’ for some hefty, price increases in jams, wine, glass packaged puddings etc. We expect to see some shop retail products switching to high quality, widely recycled plastic, which is CONSIDERABLY lighter in weight. Glass remains perfect for our doorstep customers and our recycled poly range for wholesale.
