Local Spotlight: Stanley’s Coffee House and Kitchen

Local spotlight: Stanley’s Coffee House and Kitchen

Situated in Barker and Stonehouse, Knaresborough, independent Stanley’s Coffee House and Kitchen is the area’s go-to place for great coffee and fantastic food. From its breakfast and lunch specials to its cake and sweet treats, all dishes are made in-house with quality ingredients from local suppliers.

We talk to General Manager, Holly.

How long have you been open?

Five years.

What is your favourite thing about running a small business?

The people, the staff and the customers.

What does quality mean to you?

Stanley’s!

What is your favourite way to enjoy milk?

With coffee.

Describe your business in three words.

Vibrant, unique, professional.

The hardest latte art?

Winnie the witch (our own spooky creation) – she comes out to play around Halloween with her friends Gordon the Ghoul and Pete the Pumpkin.

Favourite latte art?

The bear. We put a bear on every children’s hot chocolate, the kids and parents love it.

Tea or coffee?

Both. Ringtons supply our specialty teas and coffees – so much thought, time and skill go into these products, it really is an artform.

How do you take your tea or coffee?

Varies on my mood… and the weather!

Favourite coffee accompaniment?

Our gluten free dairy free soya free peanut butter brownie or our gluten free dairy free toasted banana loaf – both extremely delicious and rather addictive.

Favourite breakfast item?

Head Chef Jo’s Special Pancakes with golden hummus, poached eggs, crispy smoked bacon, and maple syrup.
